Installation
Installing the Economics Pack for Mathematica 12.1.1.0
(December 2020)
This provides a short guide for installing the Economics Pack. Read Install.nb
for key information on installation and troubleshooting.
-
Download: TheEconomicsPack.zip
(ca 10 MB):

-
Unpack to your Mathematica $UserBaseDirectory in its \Applications\
subdirectory. This creates the ...\Applications\Economics directory
and its subdirectories (ca 32 MB).

	-
	After expanding, start up Mathematica.

	-

Start the Pack by having Mathematica evaluate Needs["Economics`Pack`"].
The Pack will ask for your password. You only need it once for the
InputDialog. Henceforth it will be read from a small Password.txt file in
the Economics directory. You can call the TheEconomicsPack palette
from the palette menu. This will give further assistence on using the Pack.

Read the
chapter "Getting started" in the
User Guide for
more details. (The Guide button
on the palette only applies to the HelpBrowser for Mathematica 10 and lower, and
does no longer apply to Mathematica 11+.)
To get your password, email tc-tc@kpnmail.nl, and you will receive your password by reply email. Send me: (a) proof of your payment and (b) your Mathematica
$NetworkLicense value, the Mathematica $LicenseID and your machine number $MachineID. If you send your $LicenseID then you can use the Pack with your copy of Mathematica.
Holders of a single user license for The Economics Pack on a network machine, with a Mathematica
$NetworkLicense === True, will have to send in their $MachineID. Your
$NetworkLicense, $LicenseID and $MachineID can be found by evaluating these symbols in Mathematica, which can be done without
The Economics Pack installed.
Notes:
-
Proof of payment can come e.g. from the bank or the reseller, or is given
directly from using paypal. See the payment
details.

-
Above short guide is for single users. In the past $InstallationDirectory was
used but now it is $UserBaseDirectory.

-
Network operators who want to install the Pack in $InstallationDirectory might
need to contact me for a different zip version.

	-
If you put the Pack in another place than $InstallationDirectory, $BaseDirectory
or $UserBaseDirectory then it will not work.

-
Though Mathematica can read packages and notebooks independently
from various operating systems, there still is the issue of transferring
from one system to the other. However, modern expanders can handle the
*.zip format. Unix / Linux and Apple users must use unzip -aa TheEconomicsPack.zip

can go wrong.
